Thanks to the NASUWT pushing workload as part of the recent dispute the joint trade unions won significant progress on workload reduction methods which should help teachers enjoy a better work/life balance. While the pay deal was the best available at present, we are not giving up on our determination to build a positive and professional work-life balance.
Think1265 marks the start of a NI-wide campaign to educate teachers about their rights, to equip them to argue their case and defend those rights, and to campaign for employers, Principals, teachers, and all the other stakeholders in our education system to sign up to a Best Practice Charter to put the work-life balance of teachers at the heart of all we do in schools.
Teachers are the most valuable resource in the education system. It’s time to protect that resource.
